Release 1.3.0 · 6 October 2026

What is new in Batomon Showdown 1.3.0

Batomon Showdown 1.3.0 arrived on 6 October 2026. These are the developer's own notes, with the balance changes, quality-of-life changes, and fixes of each update.

What this site shows

  • The catalog now shows 1.3.0 on Balance 25.
  • Comps, meta, and player pages use only runs from Balance 25. Data from older patches is removed when a new patch arrives, so samples are small in the first days of a patch.
  • Ranked pages still show ladder results from before the Season 1 reset.
  • Some mechanics and guide pages still describe older rules. Prefer the notes above when they disagree.

1.3.0

New

  • Master rank players can now access a Leaderboard on the title screen, showing the top 10 and the players near their rank.

QoL

  • Keyboard hotkeys: R or D rerolls the shop, E sells the monster under your cursor, and Space and H confirm and hide the end-screen panel respectively. Hovering Reroll, Confirm or Hide shows its key.
  • The 30 FPS cap while tabbed out is now an option, Background FPS Limit in Settings, and is off by default, so a battle watched on a second monitor stays smooth.
  • Cordycant and Aviarab now say their armed buff is lost if they're sold before it's used.

Jinto Batomon

  • Opalion
    • Changed to weaken the Cairnage synergy.
    • Cooldown: 9 → 6
    • Rock allies triggered: 2 → 1
  • Petrirex
    • Revert the cooldown change as the scaling nerf from last patch was already pretty heavy.
    • Cooldown: 7 → 5.5
  • Steamscuttle
    • Very popular and overperforming.
    • Cooldown: 3 → 3.5
  • Kappow
    • Lower the cost so it's slightly worse as a gold gain engine. Increased the cooldown to compensate.
    • Cost: 30 → 25
    • Cooldown: 4.5 → 5.5
  • Aviarab
    • Giving multicast is very strong, and it looks to be overperforming, so slight nerf to the cost.
    • Cost: 20 → 25
  • Dollhime
    • Previous nerfs may have been too heavy, so giving it back some power.
    • Damage per trinket gained: 40/80/120 → 50/100/150
  • Mallogre
    • Does not see much play, and is slightly underperforming.
    • Cooldown: 9 → 8
  • Danuki
    • Does not see much play, and is slightly underperforming.
    • Cost: 50 → 45
  • Sarudo
    • One of the least popular Batomon in Jinto, and is underperforming hard. May need another round of buffs
    • Cost: 35 → 25

Pantra Batomon

  • Guardiant
    • Slightly underperforming.
    • Damage per Bug bought: 7/14/21 → 8/16/24
  • Noxnimbus
    • Still one of the less popular and weaker monsters despite poison teams being pretty popular in Pantra.
    • Cooldown: 4 → 3
  • Lignite
    • Slightly underperforming at higher ranks.
    • Burn-to-Damage multiplier: x15/30/45 → x20/40/60
    • Cooldown: 4 → 5
  • * Rock types in Pantra are played very little and are underperforming.
    • Stalagrove
    • Cooldown: 5.5 → 4.5
  • Aegistruct
    • Cooldown: 7 → 6
  • Geminiss
    • Cooldown: 12 → 10

Bugfixes

  • Fixed On Bought cards like Toximoth and Leafleap showing the run's total buff instead of what one trigger gives.
  • Fixed buying a common Bug using up both Bargain Bin's and Bug Catcher's free buy. Bargain Bin's is used first now, so Bug Catcher stays ready for a rarer Bug.
  • Fixed Aviarab's armed Multicast being lost when you bought a Zephyrex, which can't gain Multicast. It now waits for the next Flying Batomon.
  • Fixed Twins' copy missing buffs the merged monster got right after the merge, like Silver Watch's Cooldown Speed or an Aviarab's armed charge.
  • Fixed Greedy Gloves staying armed when you picked a single card from a gift, so every later gift offered Take All again.
  • Fixed Echo Bell and Lucky Coin giving no extra item use when bought as the day's first item.
  • Fixed Berroon's banked berries not reaching the shop once the day's item was bought, with monsters rolling in the item slot instead.
  • Fixed Small Club and Giant Club keeping their Damage bonus when a trinket further along in the bag, like Speed Crest, took the monster's cooldown under 5 sec.
  • Fixed Zenith Stone still boosting Cooldown Speed bonuses, like Galvanine's.
  • Fixed Shiny Gildshell's Damage from its Sell Value only showing in battle, not in the shop.
  • Fixed Sproutquill and Fernfowl progressing toward evolution from the bench. Like Emberpaw, they now only progress while on the team.
  • Fixed a monster knocked out at the same moment it cast, then revived, like a Bonshell next to a Petrirex with Shikitsune, coming back with its cooldown restarted as if it had attacked.
  • Fixed Shiny Wishwash being no better than the regular Wishwash at level 4.
  • Fixed the Smuggler sometimes bringing the wrong mix of tiers, like 3 commons.
  • Fixed the shop's merge preview saying LV 3 when buying a Swoonet would chain past level 3.
  • Fixed Gemwing not highlighting the On Bought ally above it.
  • Fixed the trinket bag blocking clicks on the Batopedia's filter buttons when left open. Opening the Batopedia, Settings or Quit now closes it.
  • Fixed Voltalith, a retired Batomon, showing up on enemy teams.
  • Fixed RT not freezing the shop on some Android handhelds, like the RG Rotate.
  • Fixed the post-battle stats and Run History only scrolling on mobile when dragged from the scrollbar or the gaps between entries.
  • Fixed players signed in through Steam on mobile having no name, so battle intros showed trainer names instead.
  • Fixed the game failing to start on some Windows machines without Vulkan or DirectX 12, like Windows under Parallels on a Mac.

1.2.0

New

  • Added the Smuggler trainer, who brings Batomon from the other regions into your shop.

QoL

  • Hiding the end-screen panel now brings back both trainer badges, so you can check who you just fought without watching the replay.
  • The game now drops to 30 FPS while tabbed out on desktop, so it no longer slows down the rest of your computer.
  • The post-battle stats now count how many times a monster triggered, instead of counting every Multicast cast separately.
  • Vipair now shows the On Trinket Gained keyword.
  • Twins now says its copy starts with a sell value of 0.
  • Some French localization were updated after review from a native speaking player.

Jinto Batomon

  • After last patch's Jinto nerfs, Jinto teams' median DPS is still around 1.5x higher than Pantra teams at day 10+. So I'm doing another balance pass on Jinto to tone down the more powerful Batomon.
  • Petrirex
    • Per ally knocked out: 30/60/90 Shield and Damage → 20/40/60 Shield only
    • Cooldown: 5.5 → 7
  • Opalion
    • Cooldown: 8 → 9
    • Shield: 84 → 90
  • Nekoffin
    • Damage: 250/500/750 → 200/400/600
  • Vengrieve
    • Cooldown: 6/3/2 → 7.5/3.75/2.5
  • Cairnage
    • Shield-to-Damage multiplier: x1/2/3 → x0.8/1.6/2.4
  • Ninflora
    • Cooldown Speed on victory: 12/24/36% → 10/20/30%
  • Cawnushi
    • Damage per knockout: 70/140/210 → 60/120/180
  • Shrinell
    • Cost: 50 → 55
  • Shikitsune
    • Cooldown Speed per revive: 20/40/60% → 15/30/45%
  • Emburn
    • Now only gains Burn from its own and its allies' knockouts, not the enemy's
    • Burn per knockout: 4/8/12 → 3/6/9
  • Bonshell
    • Damage and Shield per cast: 100/200/300 → 80/160/240
  • Steamscuttle
    • Cooldown: 2.5 → 3
  • Cinnabark
    • Reverted last patch's nerf. It was a little overzealous
    • Cooldown: 5 → 4
  • Drumire
    • Same as above
    • Cost: 50 → 45

Pantra Batomon

  • Buffing up some of the underperforming and less played Batomon in Pantra to slowly inch closer to Jinto's power level.
  • Thorntail
    • Damage per Poison applied: 6/12/18 → 8/16/24
  • Noxnimbus
    • Poison to adjacent Toxic allies: 2/4/6 → 3/6/9
  • Cinderfly
    • Cost: 30 → 25
    • Burn: 6 → 7

Trainers

  • Chemist
    • Pretty decent trainer overall, but underperforms for higher mmr players.
    • Toxic starting Poison: +1 → +3
  • Redhead
    • Same as above
    • Burn per win to Fire monsters: +2 → +3
  • Gamer now tells you which Mythical it will give you from the start of the run, and you can inspect it from the trainer panel.
    • Small buff to help players plan their run now that you can see which Mythical you will get right away.

Events

  • The traveling merchant can now offer Cordycant and Sproach for the foreign Batomon option.
    • After last patch's change to also have the Batomon enter the shop pool, these two now have abilities that are actually useable now.
  • Dragon Egg can now hatch Ouroblaze, Tsunamere and Stellagon.
    • Letting it hatch any Legendary dragon is more true to the description and leads to more interesting runs.

Trinkets

  • Zenith Stone
    • This was already one of the strongest trinket, but letting it double dip on multipliers and additive bonuses is too much
    • No longer boosts % bonuses, such as Metal Bat and Metronome

Items

  • Crimson Ticket
    • Too expensive for what it does
    • Cost: 50 → 30

Bugfixes

  • Fixed Shikitsune failing to revive an ally knocked out at the same moment it cast, such as by a Petrirex with the same cooldown.
  • Fixed Cherubble's Protect arriving too late to save an ally that knocks itself out, like Electranade, when the two share a cooldown.
  • Fixed Earth Crest and Sea Crest skipping monsters that start the battle with 0 Shield or Heal.
  • Fixed Alpha Crown leaving a monster below the rest of the team when it lost a Club bonus mid-fight, and setting a monster's Damage to 0 in Extended Mode once it was stacked extremely high.
  • Fixed Shiny Dirgefin only gaining Damage from Tier 1 knockouts it landed itself, and gaining it from knockouts that Protect blocked.
  • Fixed a type granted by an event, like Dryad Statue's Grass, no longer counting after the monster transformed.
  • Fixed a transformed monster hiding an armed charge it still carries, like Aviarab's multicast buff.
  • Fixed Miasmaw gaining nothing from reaching level 4.
  • Fixed the monster inspect sheet opened during a battle showing pre-battle numbers instead of the live ones.
  • Fixed Sproutquill and Fernfowl's evolution progress not counting the current fight's damage when inspected during a battle.
  • Fixed cooldowns showing 0.0 sec when they are actually at the 0.1 sec minimum.
  • Fixed Run History not showing the monsters a Rigalord devoured.
  • Fixed monsters and trinkets near the top of the run summary screen not responding to hover.
  • Fixed the post-battle stats not scrolling with a controller, so the bottom enemy row couldn't be reached.
  • Fixed long loading and stuttering at the start of battle with a very large trinket bag in Extended Mode.
  • Fixed some text staying in the old language after changing language in Settings, including the Batopedia's filter button, its Trophy, Medal and Star descriptions, and the shop screen on Android.
  • Fixed the Collection window flickering wider when showing the Supporter Pack hint.
  • Fixed a finished run being lost on Steam when Steam failed to confirm your sign-in. The game now keeps playing offline and syncs the run later.
  • Fixed Android sign-in getting stuck when the browser finished signing in but never returned you to the game.
  • Fixed the title screen on mobile showing an outdated rank after switching back to the app.
  • Fixed Coffee so it highlights Rattleghast, since it does repeat its ability.

1.1.0

QoL

  • A monster's card now shows what it sells for, in gold, next to its rarity.
  • The end-of-run summary screen now lets you inspect monsters and trinkets.
  • The Batopedia, Settings and Quit buttons are now on the trainer select screen too.
  • Added Background Audio setting, on the System page under Music, that keeps the audio playing when you alt-tab away. It is On by default.
  • The Batopedia's tabs and its close button sizes increased on mobile, so it's easier to tap with a finger.
  • Settings now opens straight from the title screen, and Run History has moved into the menu button beside it.

Events

  • The traveling merchant's exotic monster now joins your shop for the rest of the run.

Jinto Batomon

  • Currently, Jinto end game is full of one-shot kills, which I think is unhealthy and unfun for most players. At days 10+, median DPS of Jinto teams are almost 2 times higher than Pantra teams. I'm aiming to get the power level of all regions into a similar ballpark, so that I can implement more cross-region mechanics or game modes in the future.
  • Rattleghast
    • Poison per ally knocked out: 5/10/15 → 4/8/12
    • Cost: 10 → 15
  • Petrirex
    • Shield and Damage per ally knocked out: 50/100/150 → 30/60/90
  • Ginsage
    • Cooldown Speed to adjacent Grass allies: 10/20/30% → 7/14/21%
  • Ninflora
    • Cooldown Speed on victory: 20/40/60% → 12/24/36%
  • Brimtoad
    • Burn and Poison per battle: 5/10/15 → 4/8/12
    • Burn and Poison: 5/10/15 → 1/2/3
  • Sukoi
    • Cooldown: 6/3/2 → 9/4.5/3
  • Dollhime
    • Damage per trinket: 60/120/180 → 40/80/120
  • Mallogre
    • Damage and Shield per trinket: 5/10/15 → 4/8/12
  • Orcana
    • Damage and Heal per Level 3+ ally: 200/400/600 → 160/320/480
  • Tengusto
    • Damage per badge: 70/140/210 → 60/120/180
  • Danuki
    • Share of a knocked-out ally's Damage: 100% → 70%
    • Shiny: 120% → 84%
  • Snapscald
    • Heal: 50/100/150 → 40/80/120
    • Burn: 10/20/30 → 8/16/24
  • Lumijel
    • Damage and Heal to each Level 3+ ally at the start of battle: 20/40/60 → 15/30/45
    • Shiny: 36/72/108 → 18/36/54
  • Ouroblaze
    • Extra Burn, as a share of the enemy's Burn: 70/140/210% → 50/100/150%
  • Cinnabark
    • Cooldown: 4 → 5
  • Drumire
    • Cost: 40 → 50
  • Pipskull
    • Evolves into Ratacomb on its 3rd knockout, not its 2nd

Pantra Batomon

  • I'm also buffing up some lesser played or underperforming Pantra Batomon to help the region match the power level of Jinto teams.
  • Clawnetic
    • Charge: 1/2/3 seconds → 1 second at every level
    • Multicast: 1/1/1 → 1/2/3
  • Galvanine
    • Cost: 50 → 40
  • Torrantler
    • Cooldown: 8 → 7
    • Shiny: 6.5 → 5.5
  • Dribblet and Emperooze
    • Cooldown: 3.5 → 3
  • Panbud and Bambudo
    • Cooldown: 5.5 → 5
  • Zephyrex
    • Cooldown: 11 → 10
  • Noxalith
    • Cooldown: 8 → 7
  • Magmalith
    • Cooldown: 10 → 9
  • Pyronade
    • Burn: 18/36/54 → 20/40/60
  • Coalem
    • Shield: 450/900/1350 → 550/1100/1650
  • Aster
    • Heal to adjacent Water allies: 20/40/60 → 25/50/75
  • Electranade
    • Shock: 28/56/84 → 25/50/75

Event Batomon

  • Talonite
    • Rarity: Uncommon → Rare
    • As a day 6 event Batomon, it's more appropriate for it to be at least Rare. This is a slight nerf since it will no longer be targetable by Basic Candy.
  • Wishwash
    • Slightly underperforming, so I'm upping the rarity of the trinkets it gives.
    • Trinket rarity granted: Uncommon/Rare/Super Rare → Rare/Super Rare/Legendary
  • Basilord
    • Slightly underperforming, so I'm buffing the payoff.
    • Burn: 150/300/450 → 170/340/510

Cross-Region Batomon

  • Boomagon
    • Boomagon is still the most popular pick in the game. It warrants a slight nerf due to how centralizing it can feel on the meta.
    • Cooldown Speed: 4/8/12% → 3/6/9%

Trinkets

  • All of the cooldown speed trinkets are close to the most popular and most powerful trinkets of each tier, so they are getting a nerf across the board.
  • Quick Bell, Quick Flag, Tempo Charm
    • Cooldown Speed: 5% → 4%
  • Speed Whistle, Silver Watch
    • Cooldown Speed: 15% → 12%
  • Speed Crest
    • Cooldown Speed: 20% → 15%
  • Blitz Bell
    • Cooldown Speed: 30% → 25%
  • Haste Crown
    • Cooldown Speed: 30% → 20%
  • Haste Orb
    • Cooldown Speed: 15% → 10%
  • Momentum Flag
    • Cooldown Speed: 10% → 8%
  • Alpha Crown
    • Can be instantly game winning majority of games, so it would fit better as a mythical trinket.
    • Rarity: Legendary → Mythical

Items

  • Coupon
    • Day 1 coupon is a much stronger start than all the other items.
    • Discount: 5 → 3 gold
  • Gray Chip
    • Even if you win, the payout of gray chip does not even generate as much value as the other common items.
    • Win bonus: 5 → 15 gold

Bugfixes

  • Fixed the opponent moving first whenever both sides had a monster due on the same instant, so an enemy Vengrieve or Reapra could knock yours out before it ever triggered. Ties now resolve in the order the casts were queued, which is your side first.
  • Fixed quitting to the main menu and continuing your run rewinding the shop, so the next reroll dealt the same shelf again and a monster you had already bought could be bought over and over.
  • Fixed the game freezing on a black screen, sometimes for minutes, when continuing an Extended Mode run with a very large trinket bag.
  • Fixed the game opening in a window bigger than your monitor on a fresh install, which cut off the right and bottom of the screen including the Resolution setting that would have fixed it.
  • Fixed the game never getting past the loading screen on Android tablets and foldables.
  • Fixed the smallest movement of a mouse or a resting controller stick dropping the shop out of controller controls, which put a held monster back, cleared the selection ring and closed the stats box mid-read.
  • Fixed the "Progress Not Saved" popup being impossible to dismiss with a controller, which left the run needing a restart.
  • Fixed the "Tap your new Batomon" tutorial step never accepting the tap when the buying lesson had played just before it.
  • Fixed a shop enchantment like Aviarab advertising its current level instead of what it actually banked when you bought it.
  • Fixed switching accounts on the same device being able to attach your profile or run save to the other account, after which nothing you did was stored: no run history, region progress rolling back, the tutorial replaying every run, and the badge case refusing to change.
  • Fixed Android sign-in timing out on the frame you came back from the browser, so a sign-in that took over five minutes was dropped just as it landed.
  • Fixed picking a sign-in option doing nothing while an earlier one was still waiting on the browser. Choosing again now cancels the old attempt and starts over.

1.0.3

Bugfixes

  • Fixed Extended Mode runs finding no opponents, leaving you to fight a copy of your own team every round.
  • Fixed some players waiting 30 seconds before every battle and then fighting a copy of their own team.
  • Fixed Android players who had just signed in fighting a copy of their own team for the rest of that session.
  • Fixed signing in on Android sometimes doing nothing after the browser sent you back to the game, until you tried a second time.
  • Fixed the page you land on after signing in having no way back to the game when your phone's browser was set to desktop mode.
  • Fixed switching accounts on the same PC or phone offering the new account the previous account's run to continue, and the new account's progress not saving.

Hotfix 1.0.2

The game keeps working without a connection, a Credits screen arrives, and sign-in gets fixes.

  • The game stays playable when you lose your internet connection, which helps on a poor connection or when the server is busy.
  • A Credits screen opens from the title screen menu. berrymint credits Tom Limouzin for the music.
  • Fast forward gains a speed setting on the Game tab: Fast, Very Fast, and Max Speed.
  • The release makes some localization changes.
  • Steam and Google sign-in on Android no longer return you to a game that had not noticed the sign-in.
  • The page you land on after sign-in no longer stays on “Returning to Batomon Showdown…” without returning.
  • The game no longer hands you a new empty account instead of your own when the server is busy.

Hotfix v1.0.1

Server stability work, one QoL control, two balance nerfs, and mobile or controller fixes.

  • Server connectivity work continues; the developer says the service should be more stable now.
  • The title screen adds a Language button next to the menu.
  • Sukoi: max level from its level-up ability changes from 4 to 3.
  • Shiny Sukoi: levels the ally above instead of all adjacent allies; max level from that level-up stays 4.
  • Beetdown: damage per victory changes from 300 to 250.
  • Profile saving no longer stops for the rest of a session after a bad server moment.
  • Steam sign-in on mobile is more reliable.
  • Steam and Google sign-in on Android 11 and older return into the game after the browser step.
  • The "Tap your new Batomon" tutorial step advances on mobile when you tap the pointed monster.
  • Settings, Batopedia, and Quit stay closed while a tutorial step waits for input.
  • Patch Notes, Mobile, and Discord buttons on the title screen work with a controller.
  • Controller focus recovers after screenshots, ranked tutorial close, and the first trinket gift tutorial.
  • Batopedia trophy, medal, and star help buttons work with a controller.
  • The Extended Mode prompt accepts controller typing, and B no longer closes Settings behind it.
  • A second connected controller can use A and B.
  • Dialogue text no longer reveals at half speed on Steam Deck.

1.0.0 New

The launch release adds a region, trainers, trinkets, events, ranked seasons, Android, and more languages.

  • The Jinto region arrives with 50 or more new Batomon.
  • Six new trainers join the roster: Twins, Gentleman, Painter, Burglar, Scavenger, and Black Belt.
  • The release adds 30 or more new trinkets.
  • Two new events appear: the Traveling Merchant and the Fossil Discovery.
  • Ranked runs in seasons now. A season ends with a hard reset to Bronze 8.
  • Badge case skins are available.
  • Android is playable on the same account as desktop runs.
  • The game adds French, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish.

1.0.0 Quality of life

Most launch changes make the run readable: an inspect sheet, new screens, clearer status, and better filters.

  • A Batomon inspect sheet opens on right-click in the shop, in battle, on an event, or in the Batopedia. It shows full stats, the ability, and the evolution chain.
  • A Run History screen on the main menu shows who you fought, how long it took, and what each Batomon did.
  • A Patch Notes screen is on the main menu.
  • The Batopedia filters Batomon by type or rarity.
  • A “???” tab in the Batopedia holds event Batomon and mythicals.
  • A Hide Usernames setting announces both trainers by trainer class instead of display name.
  • Trinket and Batomon start-of-battle effects animate one at a time before the battle starts.
  • Small trainer portraits appear in the battle scene.
  • Protect and Silence show an icon in the Batomon corner, with a count when a status stacks.
  • Positional trinkets show an icon on their target slots while they are active.
  • Batomon with additional types from a trainer, a chef, or an event carry a visual effect.
  • A counter above some Batomon shows Berroon berries left, Aviarab multicast for the next Flying purchase, and Cordycant poison for the next purchase.
  • An execution knockout shoots a red trail onto its target.
  • Cooldown Speed is a keyword with a description, and the inspect sheet shows what your current value gives you.
  • Income is a keyword, and a shop tooltip explains it and your current amount per day.
  • The Batopedia shows entire evolution chains for multi-stage Batomon.
  • The battle recap counts how many times each Batomon cast.
  • Event screens carry the trainer panel and the shop rank in the team panel.
  • Fast-forward speeds up once the sudden-death sandstorm starts.
  • Secondary main-menu buttons moved into an overflow menu.
  • The settings menu splits into two tabs, with a separate layout for mobile touch controls.
  • Audio mutes when you switch away from the game.
  • The game reopens on the monitor you used last.
  • Cancelling an opponent search holds the battle button shut for a moment.
  • The tutorial is rebuilt.

1.0.0 Balance

Three launch changes: a late-game health increase, a level 4 sell price, and one cooldown nerf.

  • Team HP pool: base HP increases from day 10 onward. berrymint states that late fights regularly ended in under two seconds.
  • Sell value: a level 4 Batomon resells at its level 3 price.
  • Geminiss: cooldown changes from 10.0s to 12.0s, to compensate for the health increase.

berrymint published 1.3.0 on 6 October 2026. The newest notes are the developer's own text from the game's Patch Notes screen; the 1.0.x groups are condensed from the developer's Steam announcements.

Read the release announcement on the Steam store page, or ask in the official Discord.
